In dentistry, laser is primarily used for gum treatments and also used successfully in simple gum operations on hard incidences.
Today, laser is used very successfully on benefit of both dentists and patients in a quite large scope in dentistry. Most commonly used operations are these:
1. In all gum diseases and operations 2. In all filling root canal treatments of decays 3. Very successful in children teeth fillings 4. In all maxillary surgical treatments 5. 1. Bleeding is too little when compared to traditional techniques. 2. Little anaesthesia is used or sometimes none is needed. 3. Fear is overcome for children and the ones who are afraid of dental needle and tools. 4. In cardiac-tension patients, it is used easily as no anaesthesia and excitement is present (no sound) 5. In diabetic and systematic patients, little bleeding makes it easier to work on. 6. When compared to traditional methods, wounds are healed faster in operations and gum diseases. The reason is that laser sterilizes or disinfects all areas of application during operation. 7. It is much higher for a tooth to be saved as a complete sterilization is held during very difficulty root canal treatments. 8. It also has successful applications for fearful children, new ones in treatment and the ones having bad experiences with dental tools in the past.
