Trauma In Children’s Mouth and Tooth Health

Injuries may occur in areas of face specifically mouth, tooth and lip in children’s bumping one another during plays and in hyperactive children as a result of carelessness in crowded environments and schools in winter seasons.
Falling from bicycles and sports and plays in summer months and summer regions may be encountered frequently.

First response in injuries of mouth, tooth and lip area and measures to be taken are as follows:
- Bleeding zone should be disinfected in injuries of tongue, lip and cheek and immediately it should be contacted with dentist.

-It is possible for teeth to break and even eject from its locations. In this case, ejected teeth should be found and should be delivered to dentist with serum or fresh milk. Treatments to be conducted in teeth are as follows:

-X-rays of all teeth should be taken and how impact has struck which teeth and in what degree should be detected. Peripheral tissues and root fracture of shaken or broken teeth should be detected and required treatments should be performed. (fracture repair if necessary root canal therapy).
- Peripheral tissues should be renewed by combining with healthy shaking teeth and tooth should be located again for recovery.
The most important of all, if teeth dislocated are brought to dentist on time, tooth cavity and tooth should be cleaned with care and it should be located its position and fixed with other teeth. It should be enabled that tooth is knitted into its position. Sometimes root canal therapy may be necessary in such cases. However, if most of the time applications are carried out ideally and child pays attention not to bring excessive pressure on his tooth with 1-2 months period after this procedure, teeth will reach its old health in ratio of 90-95 %. I wish you days without any accident.
